We're here to support all stroke survivors, their families, whānau, friends and carers throughout their stroke journey.
Stroke Tairawhiti provides rehab support programs, information, advice, education and advocacy services throughout the Tairawhiti Region.
We believe the survivor’s circle of support are the core to their recovery. Our programs and support are provided to the stroke community for free. We work closely with the healthcare community to ensure stroke survivors are receiving professional care and support.
Stroke can be overwhelming for people affected by stroke but many go on to live a normal life. Gains can happen quickly or over time. The most rapid recovery usually occurs during the first three to four months after a stroke, but some stroke survivors continue to recover well into the first and second year post-stroke recovery.
